Ingrown Hair Treatments
Itchy, bumpy, painful pests I say. Ingrown hairs are the
worst. They are a common side effect of shaving and waxing. I’d say that is why
I’ve become a bit of an expert on this subject. As a professional Sugarist, I
have been working with this type of skin condition for almost seven years. The
majority of my clients are prone to ingrown hairs and tired of shaving or
waxing with hair breakage to boot. People search high and low for a solution
and many come to me after reading numerous articles about how sugaring is more
beneficial to skin and hair removal.
As a master sugarist who trains other Aestheticians on how to
do this amazing art, here is what I’ve found.
·
Sugaring hair removal removes
the hair in the direction of hair growth. Therefore, the hair is removed gently
and correctly.
·
When sugaring correctly, the entire hair will be
removed including the hair bulb which is why regrowth is much slower. Waxing
has more risk of hair breakage which doesn’t fair well for my ingrown-prone
friends.
·
There are professional treatments such as waxing
ingrown hair treatment that can combat ingrown including high frequency,
vajacials or pelvic facials.
·
At home, routines are also key to keeping those pesky
hairs in line including manual exfoliation (using a mitt that promotes friction
to the skin), chemical exfoliation as well as moisturizing the treatment area
to aid with hair regrowth.
When in doubt, find a sugarist that offers the education and
support you need to address this issue. The reality is that your environment
can affect ingrown hairs too. If you live in an area that is hot and humid
where it is virtually unavoidable to sweat, then ingrown hairs might be
something you continue to battle. A good home regimen along with monthly
vajacials/pelvic facials can really make a difference in your comfort.
